Mission Statement: To enhance and improve the quality of life for youth living in low-income communities and children with sickle cell anemia.

Hope for Us Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in New York City, dedicated to assisting youth with Sickle Cell Anemia in addition to children living in low-income communities. Founded in July 2013 by Kenneth Acquah, Hope for Us works with youth in an effort to improve the challenging conditions that they face. Sickle Cell Anemia is an inherited disease that affects the blood cells. With no known cure, Sickle Cell Anemia influences the lives of many families, including Acquah’s. By providing children with recreational activities such as art classes, Hope for Us in turn provides assistance to those affected with Sickle Cell Anemia. Currently, our various programs are free of charge and allows children to enjoy themselves and recognize their potential. As part of our vision, we strive to be an advocate for those affected by Sickle Cell Disease and increase its awareness to the public at large. Hope for Us carries out this vision through  face-to-face interaction with the community. Through our various programs, our organization is able to share its mission.

Thus far, Hope for Us has served over 2,000 individuals. It is imperative that we, as a community, are aware of the difficulties faced by those with Sickle Cell Anemia and those living in low-income communities.
